Clinical Nurse Specialist

Description:

The Clinical Nurse Specialist functions (CNS) in the role of clinician, educator, case manager, and consultant. In collaboration with the medical staff and nursing staff, the CNS monitors the clinical care of the patients and provides clinical support to improve patient care and patient outcomes.

Competitive Pay 

This person will report directly to our VP of Clinical Services and work collaboratively with the Nurse manager of the ICU .  Since we have just recently started our Primary PCI program  -  this position is critical to our ICU dept. 

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Completion of  Clinical Nurse Specialist program or Masters degree in Nursing (Required)
  • At least 3+ years experience as CNS (Preferred)
  • Recent acute care (hospital) experience (Required)

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

  • Current BLS (Required – condition of employment)
  • Current ACLS within 90 days of employment (Required)
  • Current TNCC (Preferred)

Title

Director, Service Line-Vascular Heart

Description:

Directly responsible for day to day management and accountability of the following service line delivery teams: Early Detection and Advanced Diagnostics, Chest Pain/AMI, Heart Failure, Circulatory and Vascular, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Surgery, and Cardiovascular Customer Service Teams

The main function of this position is to develop, implement, administer and monitor the successful performance of our Health System service line. This position has primary responsibility for the successful achievement of all service line quality, financial, and satisfaction goals. This position ensures service line planning, consistency across the health system as appropriate, integration among physicians, coordination among departments, and marketing of service line related services across the continuum. This position works collaboratively with the Service Line physician leadership, the service line stakeholders, and our Health System (MHS) leadership to achieve strategic goals. This position serves as the primary contact for the community, medical staff, and referring physicians relative to services and program development.

The incumbent in this position will support the mission, vision, values and strategic initiatives of our Health System and must demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, the public and co-workers.

 

Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Nursing, health related field or business

Minimum of three (3) years of decision making management experience handling all aspects of a service line development, implementation and operation, preferably in healthcare services

Demonstrates competence in program development, marketing, sales, project management, client relations, program outcomes and evaluation performance improvement

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Prior experience building collaborative stakeholder relations

Demonstrated effective organizational, planning, negotiating, coaching, and conceptual thinking skills 

Demonstrative analytical skills necessary to interpret and convey quantitative and qualitative data relevant to service line to all stakeholders and operational and executive management.

Description:

Description

Assists in the coordination and completion of all tasks assigned under the Cancer program standards of the American College of Surgeons, i.e. Tumor Registry, which shall include weekly tumor conferences, Cancer Committee meetings, preparation for accreditation surveys by ACS, maintenance of long-term patient follow-up, Annual Report, reporting cancer data to NCDB upon request, quarterly reports to State Cancer Registry, statistical requests and reports compiled as well as Patient Care Evaluations.  Assists in interviewing and hiring, as well as counseling and evaluating clerical tumor registry staff.

Responsibilities

1.  Responsible for the coding of inpatient charts in a 460 bed, Level II Trauma Center utilizing electronic records and 3M and SoftMed.
